Hi there, thanks for providing the service and making the web more useful to phone. Looks like a lot of people are finding your site useful. On our mobile site, I'm seeing a lot of uptick of traffic from your IP address 212.204.254.2 . Our site works by detecting the User-Agent and IP address of the request to deduce the phone capabilities and operator. Unfortunately, phonifier is not sending those information along as some other transcoder do. If you could, could you please send them along using de-facto standards as described here: http://wurfl.sourceforge.net/manifesto/ . Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

why don't you use definition of your user agent like:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; InfoPath.2) ? (Well I exposed my system :D)
that way you may trick "scripts checking which browser you use"...
(I do not know exactly whether it is legal to fool servers or not)

is there a proper IIS implemention of phonifier? i tried on iis with php 5 and ended up with erors like function eregi and form pointing to local pat not internet path.

centrophile - to answer your question - if you do an IP look up on the underlying IP address to this site you'll see it's based in the Netherlands so Google does what it thinks is best and redirects you to the Dutch site.
Again, folks, it's very cool that you've opened up the code for us to play!

You might be interested in our implementation of Phonifier. We've combined it with a natural language parser and contextualization engine. What that means is that the text you get back from Phonifier has hyperlinks in it to the related Google search. When you are on a mobile device, it's a pain to remember the search term, go into Google, and then retype it. Far easier to have just one click.

My webhost admin says PHP4 will be gone soon and replaced with PHP5. I added the code for PHP5 and now my phonifier doesn't work as well. When I took a google search and phonified it, I was able to change the google search item within the phonifier, it says to use a url outside of my domain which it didn't do with php4. What's with this?

Although it's intended to un-develop login ability for safety reason, i still hope that there'll be that function and let server admin decide if they want to activate it or not. Some websites can only be viewed with login account. Anyway, this is one of the best mobile proxy and it's really a big job done!
